{"id":7418,"date":"2021-06-12T08:21:17","date_gmt":"2021-06-12T07:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lochnessmonster.co.uk\/blog\/?p=7397"},"modified":"2022-12-28T12:05:29","modified_gmt":"2022-12-28T12:05:29","slug":"inverness-multiple-rapist-sentenced-to-15-years-prison-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lochnessmonster.co.uk\/blog\/index.php\/2021\/06\/12\/inverness-multiple-rapist-sentenced-to-15-years-prison-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Inverness multiple rapist sentenced to 15 years prison"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Update: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/scottish-news\/15333976\/kim-avis-scotland-sex-beast-airbnb-usa\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Sun reports<\/a> this Scottish multiple rapist sex beast was set to rent out AirBnBs to fund his &#8220;new life&#8221; on the run in the USA).<\/p><div id=\"lochn-2194486324\" class=\"lochn-content lochn-entity-placement\" role=\"region\" aria-label=\"Advertisements\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3003812232025940\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><insclass=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3003812232025940\" data-ad-slot=\"\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"172\" src=\"https:\/\/lochnessmonster.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/kimvincent-e1620459946906-300x172-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7481\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Inverness Multiple Rapist Jailed for 15 Years<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once dubbed by some Highland Councillors as <em>&#8220;no finer ambassador for Inverness&#8221;<\/em>, street peddler and &#8220;musician&#8221; Kim Avis aka Kim Gordon aka Kim Vincent or &#8220;Kem&#8221; has been sentenced to 15 years in prison <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avis raped and molested victims during a decade-long campaign of sex crimes in the Scottish Highlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A judge told him at the High Court in Edinburgh: <em>\u201cYou then effectively went on the run before US Marshals, unpersuaded that you were dead, tracked you down in Colorado.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lord Sandison added: <em>\u201cYou were for many years a very well-known street trader in Inverness, busking and selling jewellery from your market stall.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The judge said that as he understood it, Avis had even received <em>\u201csome sort of good citizen award\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Lord Sandison said there was another side to him and the author of a background report prepared on the sex offender had described him as <em>\u201ca controlling and dominant personality\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was found guilty of a total&nbsp;of 13 offences of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and indecency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was also found guilty of failing to appear at the High Court in Edinburgh in March, 2019, for proceedings in the case.
